Felicitas is both the Founder and Managing Director at Beyond Philanthropy and Active Philanthropy, linking both the for-profit and non-profit worlds. At Beyond Philanthropy, Felicitas is mainly responsible for the human resources and organisational development. Her primary focus is on consulting our private clients.
Felicitas has more than 20 years of experience in philanthropy and social investing. She held different senior positions at the Bertelsmann Foundation. From 1998 to 2002, she ran the international media and education projects, as well as supervised the set-up of the foundation’s office in New York. From 2002-2005, Felicitas co-chaired the “The Philanthropy Workshop” program in partnership with the Rockefeller Foundation. Felicitas was a Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Philanthropy at the City University of New York.
She is a frequent speaker and panelist on issues related to (family) philanthropy, social investing, and personal giving strategies. Furthermore, Felicitas is member of the advisory board of the charity Children for a Better World e.V. and member of the advisory board of the API Kinder- und Jugendstiftung and the Borderland Foundation in Sejny, Poland. She was appointed a Young Global Leader (YGL) by the World Economic Forum in 2010.
Felicitas von Peter read history, political science and philosophy at the Universities of Bonn, Heidelberg, and Paris and received her PhD in History from the University of Cambridge, UK.
